The Problem of Doubt

As Christianity primarily deals with the understanding and application of faith, it makes a lot of sense that doubt would be considered a significant problem to the church. The term “doubt” can be used somewhat differently on varying contexts. When we use the word “doubt” in common language, we speak about uncertainty in regard to objects, events, ideas, people, and actions. This uncertainty is rooted in the reality that we simply do not know everything. Doubt is deeply rooted in the human experience.

Religion based on fear, Gospel based on love

Have you ever heard the saying “Christianity is not a religion, it’s a relationship”? It’s a very silly phrase and has become a cliché. But I believe it is very relevant to our discussion today. I want to explore this idea that motivation to obey God can come from different places and lead to a wholly different experience. I want to talk about the different motivations for worship and how this motivates our understanding of Christianity.
